Quality Assured
Hormone Testing
Our CLIA-certified testing facility uses cutting-edge technology and is the only clinical laborary to use sample extraction methods that remove contaminants which could otherwise alter test results.
Quality control starts from the moment you collect your sample, either in saliva tubes designed for optimum preservation of the hormone specimen, or on filter paper specially formulated for stability and transportability of dried blood spots. Samples are routinely barcoded for identification security and to prevent specimen confusion.
Processing begins with a 'clean up' of the sample to remove debris or contaminants and reduce risks of testing interference. Hormone samples are tested on assay plates assisted by state-of-the-art robotics which eliminate variance and manual error, and guarantee continuity and reproducibility.
When sample analysis is complete, the assay is reviewed, assessed and double-checked by a minimum of three highly-trained technicians who examine all controls and knowns, to confirm testing reliability. Should the assay fail to pass QC standards the entire process is automatically repeated.
So, to reiterate, these are not vague testing procedures that are similar to those offered at many chemists today: these are advanced medical tests that use cutting-edge technology developed specifically for hormone processing and analysis and are able to identify hidden hormone imbalances that will ultimately make sense to you and aid you in the maintenance of optimal health and well-being.

Emerita Range of Products
Bio-Vitality is the authorised International Distributor for Emerita outside the USA.
Emerita is a specialist in developing wellness products for all stages of a woman's life, from young adulthood to motherhood to menopause and beyond. Manufacturer of the original natural progesterone cream, Pro-Gest, Emerita has earned its spurs with three generations of women.
Each product is formulated according to the company's firm commitment to quality products, which is why Pro-Gest is the natural progesterone cream that outsells other brands by 11 to 1 and is the only natural progesterone cream backed by clinical trials. Emerita takes women seriously.
Pro-Gest® cream is manufactured to contain 450 milligrams (mg) of USP Progesterone per ounce (900 mg per two-ounce tube). Each ¼ tsp contains approximately 20 mg of USP Progesterone. Careful clinical research has shown this to be an effective amount to achieve a natural balance.
United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) Progesterone is progesterone that exactly duplicates the progesterone naturally produced in the body. It is sometimes referred to as "human-identical" or "bio-identical" progesterone. The title "USP Progesterone" differentiates natural progesterone from synthetic progestins or progestogens. Emerita uses only the highest quality ingredients.
A stringent quality control process is followed for each production run. Quality testing is completed for raw ingredients, packaging and finished goods and guarantees that each batch of Pro-Gest® is manufactured to exact specifications.
PARABEN FREE
Since Emerita learned that paraben may have unwanted health effects it was decided to develop a paraben free range. Parabens are easily absorbed through the skin.
So what are parabens, exactly, and what are they in?
Parabens are common preservatives used in hundreds of everyday health and beauty products, from shampoos to deodorants, cosmetics and even skin creams.
To see whether the products you buy contain parabens, look under the "ingredients" listing on the package. You're looking for the words "methylparaben," "polyparaben," "propylparaben," "butylparaben" or "ethylparaben."
The Journal of Applied Toxicology published a study in 2004 that found parabens in breast tissue, indicating that these compounds are probably being absorbed through the skin and may have a link to breast cancer. (Parabens mimic estrogen in the body, and high levels of estrogens have long been associated with increased risk of breast cancer.) While the results of the 2004 study are not conclusive, it is worth checking labels for paraben-free alternatives.
